My First HDR - beginners group
Like proud new parents, everyone's keen to show off their first HDR efforts, With loads popping up in the various HDR (High Dynamic Range) groups. And why not? I did.
Some of them are great, some hilariously rubbish. Either way, post your first HDR pics here.
The idea is that the group is for early efforts by beginners, rather than for fully fleged HDR ninjas (although they are encouraged to comment and contribute to the forum).
WE want to encourage constructive critique in the forum section and an emphasis on learning the basic techniques with questions and answers - to help avoid some of the HDR catastrophes that litter flickr!
The group is pretty big now so unfortunately we need some rules
1. to join the group PLEASE POST YOUR FIRST EVER HDR EFFORT (and tag it myfirstHDR), however good or bad it is (NOT your first good one). This is just for fun really.
2. This group is for MULTI-EXPOSURE HDR images - NOT TONEMAPPED JPEGS or RAWs however cool they may look (theres lots of other groups for these)
2. Please dont post too many images - there is now a one pic a day posting limit, to avoid the group getting overloaded.
4. If you post pics here, PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO THE FORUMS and GIVE FEEDBACK TO PICTURES BY OTHER GROUP MEMBERS. that really is the whole point of the group.
Then we can all help each other develop HDR as a technique and art form (whilst keeping the most common HDR misfires to a minimum).
cheers

The Cloud Gallery: Only the Best (Invitation Only)
Lets start by recognizing that all clouds are Amazing but not all cloud photos are great. I love cloud photos but am esctatic about great clould photos. When I first viewed Stieglitz's cloud portfolio it became clear they were valid objects for artistic photography. The group is created to collect the best and most artistic clouds on flickr. Clouds are difficult and challenging to shoot. Often they overexpose, particularly if the auto mode is used. Texture is elusive. Contrast is tricky. Tonality is elusive and composition is complex. Aesthetic and artistic elements seem unattainable for most of us. When done with talent and luck it is an amazing piece of art. Please participate by posting your cloud photos when invited.
